Glocks To Replace Obsolete Pistols In Afghanistan

The Czech Defense Ministry is buying new pistols for Czech troops in Afghanistan after their current weapons were found to be obsolete, reports the Czech News Agency.

The military will acquire 1,000 guns from Austrian gunmaker Glock under a US$869,000 deal, Defense Minister Martin Barak told Czech lawmakers.

The new Glock 17 pistols are the same as those used by special operations forces and military policemen, Barak said.
