German General Succeeds Pole In Rotating Leadership Of Alliance Multinational Corps

A German general has assumed command of NATO's Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE), according to a Corps release.

Polish Lt. Gen. Boguslaw Samol relinquished command to German Lt. Gen. Manfred Hofmann during a ceremony on Aug. 13 at the corps headquarters in Szczecin, Poland.

Samol has held the post since December 2012.

The top officers in the corps, from Denmark, Germany and Poland, rotate every three years. The MNC NE was established in 1999.
