For the first time in more than 20 years, a German frigate has visited South Korea during a deployment to Asia, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
The Bayern arrived in Busan on Tuesday and was scheduled to remain until Dec. 6.
The frigate departed Germany in August and has since made stops in India, Australia and Japan.
The deployment is a signal that Germany is strengthening its activity in the Indo-Pacific region, the German Embassy in Seoul said.
