A top Malian military officer has survived an attempt on his life in the nation's capital, reports Reuters.
Sources said Gen. Mohamed Ould Meydou was shot and injured slightly by unknown gunmen on Monday in Bamako. A medic said he was able to leave the hospital after receiving treatment.
