A senior Syrian military officer has been killed in an ISIS ambush in eastern Syria, reports the Syrian Observer, citing local media.
Brig. Gen. Bashir Salim Ismail, the commander of the 137th Regiment, was leading a patrol in the Al-Mayadeen desert that was attacked by ISIS militants, Deir Ezzor 24, which is affiliated with the opposition, reported on Wednesday.
