General Escapes Assassination Attempt In Islamabad

Suspected Taliban gunmen attempted to assassinate a senior Pakistani military officer in Islamabad on Tuesday, CNN reports.
The unnamed brigadier general was traveling with his mother when the gunmen on a motorbike opened fire on his vehicle, said military officials.
No one was hit, and the gunmen escaped, said police.
Last Thursday, Brig. Gen. Moinuddin Ahmed, head of the Pakistani contingent to the U.N. Mission in Sudan (UNMIS), was killed in a similar attack.
