General Dynamics Wins More Work For New Sub Program

The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat a contract modification for additional engineering work for the service's next ballistic-missile submarine, reports the Groton, Conn.-based defense firm.
The $8.8 million order modifies a $76 million contract awarded in December 2008 for engineering, technical services, concept studies and design of a common missile compartment for new missile subs being developed for the British Royal Navy and the U.S. Navy.
