The head of the Pentagon's organization to counter improvised explosive devices (IEDs) predicts fewer such attacks by the end of the year, reports USA Today.
The counterinsurgency strategy will be fully implemented by the end of 2010, troops will have better counter-IED equipment and more insurgents will have been killed, said Lt. Gen. Michael Oates, the commander of the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO).
