Future USS Billings Littoral Ship Christened, Launched In Wis.

Another Freedom-class littoral combat ship for the U.S. Navy has been christened and launched at the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard in Wisconsin, reports Lockheed Martin, which leads the industry team behind the warship.

The Billings (LCS-15), named after the largest city in Montana, was put into the Menominee River in Marinette during a ceremony on July 1, noted UPI. The ship is the first to be named after the city.
