The Canadian government is allocating Can$348.6 million (US$263 million) over the next three years for the deployment of a battle group in Latvia as well as air and sea patrols to counter potential Russian aggression in the region, reports CBC News, citing recently released figures.
Ottawa is also renewing Can$465 million (US$351 million) in funding for security forces and development assistance in Afghanistan until 2021.
