Fresh Clashes Break Out

New fighting has been reported in Sudan's Darfur region and South Kordofan state, reports the Sudan Tribune.

South Sudanese troops were repulsed after an attack on a northern brigade in the Bahr al-Arab region near the town of al-Meram in South Kordofan, said the mayor of that town.

Seven South Sudanese soldiers and 15 Sudanese troops were killed in the fighting north of Aweil in South Sudan, South Sudanese officials told the BBC.
