French, Russian Shipbuilders Form Consortium

The United Ship Construction Corp. (USC) in Russia and DCNS in France have signed a deal to set up a consortium to build warships and civilian vessels, reports Interfax-AVN.
The agreement was finalized on Monday in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
The consortium is expected to be capable of building French Mistral-class amphibious ships that are sought by Moscow. Analysts said the consortium is the most likely winner of a Russian tender to the ships, reported RIA Novosti. ...
