Two French citizens who died after being kidnapped Friday in Niger were probably killed by their captors, say French military officials, as reported by BBC News.
An attempt to rescue the hostages ended Saturday with their deaths, the Voice of America News reported.
Four gunmen seized the hostages late Friday in the capital of Niamey. Niger security forces tracked down the kidnappers' vehicle early Saturday near the border with Mali, Nigerien officials said.
