French Al-Qaida Leader Arrested

Pakistani authorities say they have captured a senior Al-Qaida member near the border with Iran, reports CNN.

The arrest of French national Naamen Maziche, who was reported to be in charge of various Al-Qaida international operations, was announced on Wednesday.

Maziche is a close aide of Al-Qaida leader Younis Al Mauretani, who was arrested in September 2011, the officials said. The latter is said to have provided information on the whereabouts of Maziche.
