France and Senegal have formalized a new defense agreement.
The new president of Senegal signed both defense and aid agreements on Wednesday, reports Agence France-Presse.
President Macky Sall met with French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris and both signed the documents.
The defense deal confirmed a previous agreement with former President Abdoulaye Wade to reduce the presence of French troops in Dakar from 1,200 to 300 soldiers, said officials.
