France Cuts Price, Offers Technology, As Rafale Deal Reaches Final Stages

France and India appear to have ironed out the final obstacles in a long-stalled deal for Rafale fighter jets for the Indian air force, say sources, as cited by India's Economic Times.

Price was a major issue, with the sides reportedly agreeing to a US$7.25 billion contract. France will also transfer advanced technology, including on jet engines, said the unnamed sources last week.

The deal for 36 Rafales could be approved as soon as the next meeting of the Cabinet Committee...
