France Announces Plans For Enhanced Defense Spending

During a speech commemorating the eve of Bastille Day, French President Emmanuel Macron announced plans for an additional $7.6 billion (EUR6.5 billion) in defense spending over the next two years. France expects to spend $75 billion (EUR64 billion) on defense in 2027, double the country’s military budget from 2017.
