The U.S. Navy plans to christen its newest littoral combat ship on Saturday in Marinette, Wis., reports the Dept. of Defense.
The Forth Worth (LCS-3) is the second littoral combat ship built to a Lockheed Martin design.
LCS vessels, designed for high-speed operations in shallow waters, are equipped with various mission packages for different tasks, such as surface warfare, mine countermeasures and anti-submarine warfare.
