Police in Los Angeles have arrested a former Mexican defense minister on drug-related charges, reports the New York Times.
On Thursday, Gen. Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda was arrested upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport at the request of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Cienfuegos will face drug and money-laundering charges, said federal prosecutors.
The general served as defense minister during the administration of President Enrique Pena Nieto, from 2012 to 2018. ...
