A former army chief in Malawi has been arrested on corruption charges, reports the Nyasa Times (Malawi).
Gen. Henry Odillo and his former deputy, Lt. Gen. Clement Kafuwa, were detained Monday, according a statement from Malawi's Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The two are accused of arranging a US$4 million military equipment contract for blank ammunition that was never delivered, reported the BBC. They may face charges of abuse of public office, money-laundering and negligence. ...
