Latvian lawmakers have formally confirmed Brig. Gen. Raimonds Graube as the next commander of the armed forces, reports the Baltic Course.
Graube replaces Maj. Gen. Juris Maklakov, whose term of office expires in July.
The general previously served for four years as the commander of the military. He is currently the executive secretary for military capacities development at the Defense Ministry, and has served as Latvia's military representative to NATO.
