The European Union Foreign Affairs Council, meeting in Brussels, has agreed to extend the E.U.'s naval anti-piracy mission off the coast of Somalia for another two years, reports Europolitics.
Operation Atalanta is now authorized to continue through December 2011.
The council also agreed to consider extended the area of operations further to the east and south to counter the increased range of pirate attacks.
