Foreign Jihadist Group, About 1,500-Strong, Joins Forces With Al-Qaida's Syrian Branch

A group of insurgents in Syria with more than a thousand foreign fighters has pledged allegiance to Al-Qaida's affiliate in that country, says a monitoring group cited by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar, also known as the Muhajireen Brigade, made the pledge in an online statement to Nusra Front, said the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Wednesday.
