It will take until about 2013 for the Afghan army to be ready to fight the Taliban on its own, the Globe and Mail (Toronto) reports, citing an estimate by the Afghan military.
"Within the next four years we will take the complete responsibility of the security from the international community, and the international forces will stay on their bases to support [Afghan army] forces," said a military spokesman.
