Deadly rioting and protests over rising food prices in Mozambique's capital of Maputo continued into their second day Thursday, prompting the government to consider deploying soldiers to restore order, Bloomberg News reports.
Officials said four people died and 27 were injured Wednesday in clashes between protesters and police.
Residents said they heard intermittent gunshots throughout the night, Agence France-Presse reported.
