Following Alleged Massacre, 'Firm' Response Threatened

Syrian government authorities have vowed to mount a "firm and decisive" response to what they called a massacre of 120 security personnel in the northwestern city of Jir al-Shughour, the Voice of America News reports.
Jir al-Shughour, near the border with Turkey, is the latest area involved in an anti-government uprising.
Security forces have lost control of the town and surrounding region, said a government spokesman.
