U.S. and coalition airstrikes in Afghanistan jumped dramatically in April, reaching the highest level in nearly five years, according to official statistics cited by the Air Force Times.
Coalition aircraft released 460 weapons during April, more than twice the number in March 2017, reports the U.S. Air Force Central Command (AFCENT).
The total in April was the most in a single month since August 2012, when 589 munitions were dropped.
