Internal documents show that officials with the Canadian Dept. of National Defense believe it will take 30 years to design and build its next fleet of surface warships, reports the Ottawa Citizen.
The lengthy development time will call for flexibility for project managers, say the documents.
Design work is expected to take 10 years, with construction lasting 20 years, according to briefing documents obtained by the newspaper.
