The U.S. Navy believes it needs 420 additional sailors to man its littoral combat ships under an overhaul of the troubled program, reports the Navy Times.
According to the service’s top surface forces officer, the Navy is deep-sixing its original blueprint, which projected three crews for two ships, with one crew always in training.
