In A First, Woman Named To Head Carrier Strike Group

The U.S. Navy has named its first female commander of an aircraft carrier strike group, reports the Navy Times.

Rear Adm. Nora Tyson has been assigned to command Carrier Strike Group 2, which is based out of Norfolk, Va., and includes the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier.

Tyson is the current commander of the Western Pacific Logistics Group.
