Fire Jeopardizes SEAL Mini-Sub Program

The future of the Navy SEAL's mini-submarine program is in doubt after a serious explosion and fire damaged the craft last month, reports the Navy Times.
The Advanced SEAL Delivery Vehicle 1 (ASDS-1) was having its lithium-ion batteries charged on Nov. 9 at its base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, when an explosion started a fire that burned for about six hours.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, according to a Navy spokesman.
