U.S.-backed Syrian forces have launched an operation to retake the last territory held by ISIS in eastern Syria, reports Al Jazeera (Qatar).
On Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) began the push to retake areas around al-Baghouz in the eastern Deir Ezzor province, along the border with Iraq, reported the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The U.S.-led coalition supported the operation with airstrikes.
