A Russian air force fighter aircraft may have been shot down by friendly fire during training near Moscow, reports Russia's Tass news agency.
On Tuesday, the Su-30 jet was on a routine training mission in the Tver region northwest of Moscow when it crashed, reported the Moscow Times.
Both pilots onboard ejected safely.
An initial investigation indicated that the Su-30 went down after being hit by a missile fired by another aircraft, according to unnamed sources.
