The Pentagon has tapped a new commander for the Air Force Special Operations Command, reports the Air Force Times.
Lt. Gen. Eric Fiel has been nominated for the post at Hurlburt Field, Fla.
If confirmed, Fiel would succeed Lt. Gen. Donald Wurster, who has held the post since November 2007. Wurster is retiring from the service.
Fiel currently is vice commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command.
