Fewer F-35s Expected To Be Bought, Acknowledges Defense Minister

The Dutch defense minister says the Netherlands will likely reduce its planned order of 85 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters due to rising costs, reports Radio Netherlands.
The new jets are scheduled to replace aging Dutch F-16 fighters.
Asked on the Dutch television program Buitenhof if the government still planned on the purchase, Defense Minister Hans Hillen said: "The next Cabinet will decide. It will certainly be fewer."
