Female Suicide Bomber Detonates Blast In Istanbul Police Station

A female suicide bomber has blown herself up in Istanbul, killing a Turkish police officer and wounding another officer, reports the BBC.

The bomber on Tuesday entered a police station in the Sultanahmet district. The governor of Istanbul said the woman spoke English with "a thick accent."

Police sealed off the district, a popular tourist destination that includes the Hagia Sophia museum and the Blue Mosque.
