Female AQAP Combatants Killed During Weekend Raid, Say DoD

Female fighters were among the 14 Al-Qaida militants killed in a U.S. special operations raid in Yemen over the weekend, the Pentagon said on Monday, as reported by the New York Times.
The intelligence-gathering operation against Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) on Sunday left one member of the U.S. SEALs dead. There were some reports of innocent civilian casualties, noted the Military Times.
Pentagon officials initially denied any civilians were killed.
