A Lebanese militant group says its leader may have been captured or killed in Syria, reports the New York Times.
Shakir al-Abssi, fugitive leader of the group Fatah al-Islam, fled to Syria in the summer of 2007 after confrontations with the Lebanese army.
While trying to rebuild the organization, Al-Abssi and two companions were ambushed by Syrian security agents last week, according to a statement by Fatah al-Islam.
