FARC Leader Says Weapon Purchases Have Been Suspended

The leader of the FARC guerrilla group in Colombia has announced that he ordered all rebel units to suspend purchasing weapons, reports the EFE news agency (Spain).
"On Sept. 30, 2015, I gave the order to suspend arms and munitions purchases by all units," said Rodrigo Londono Echeverri, also known as Timochenko, on Tuesday in a Twitter message.
The message ended with the hashtag "#DeescalateNow," reported the Indo-Asian News Service.
