The South Korean government will buy engine and transmission systems from Germany for its initial batches of a domestically developed main battle tank, reports the Korea Times.
The first 100 K2 Black Panther tanks will be fitted with the German powerpacks rather than Korean ones, a spokesman for the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said on Monday.
