F-35 Defended As Gates Meets with MacKay In Ottawa

The Canadian government's decision to buy the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter dominated the run-up to a meeting between Canadian and U.S. defense chiefs.

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates met with his Canadian counterpart Peter MacKay last week in Ottawa to discuss bilateral military issues, noted the American Forces Press Service.

Mexican Defense Minister Gen. Guillermo Galvan was scheduled to participate, but was unable to attend due to illness.
