Poland could sign a contract to buy F-35 stealth fighters from the U.S. as soon as next week, reports Defence24 (Poland).
The acquisition agreement for 32 jets was expected to be concluded before the end of the month, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak told Polish radio.
Delivery of the first F-35 would follow in 2024, he said. Previous statements indicated that the first squadron would be operational by 2026, with the second to enter service by 2030.
