F-16s To Pave The Way For F-35s At Eglin AFB

The Air Force has assigned four F-16 fighters to the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., to help prepare the way for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter, reports the Air Force News Service.
The fighters, which are on loan from the 56th FW at Luke AFB, Ariz., will help establish a "battle rhythm" as the 33rd FW stands up the first joint training center for the F-35.
The F-16 was selected due to its similarity to the F-35, including flying characteristics. ...
