F-16 Request Blocked Once More By U.S. State Dept.

The U.S. State Dept. has again blocked Taiwan's request for new F-16 fighter jets, Defense News reports.
Taiwan's de facto embassy in Washington was said to be preparing to submit its fourth formal letter of request for price-and-availability data for 66 F-16C/D Block 50/52 fighters, but was told that it would not be accepted, a U.S. defense source said.
The State Dept. was acting on orders from the U.S. National Security Council, U.S. officials in Taiwan said.
