A U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet has crashed in western Germany, reports Air Force magazine.
The F-16 from the 480th Fighter Squadron, 52nd Fighter Wing, was on a routine training mission out of Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany when a problem occurred. The pilot attempted to return to base, but crashed near Zemmer, south of the base.
The pilot ejected safely, but sustained minor injuries, the wing said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
