The United States is delivering eight F-16 Block 52 fighters to the Egyptian air force this week, reports the U.S. Embassy Cairo.
The aircraft were due at the Cairo West Air Base on Thursday and Friday.
The F-16s were flown directly from the U.S. and immediately integrated with the Egyptian air force, according to the Embassy release on Thursday.
Four more of the fighters are due to be handed over in the fall.
