The Taiwanese military simulated a Chinese aerial assault on the island's major air bases in an exercise on Tuesday, Agence France-Presse reports.
The drills were carried out at a military air base near Hualien city in eastern Taiwan.
The scenario involved runways being bombed by waves of bombers or missiles from mainland China.
The simulation also tested how quickly the runways could be repaired so that Taiwan's fighter jets could take off, said an air force spokesman. ...
