Excalibur Projectiles Set 22-Mile Combat Record In Afghanistan

U.S. Marines have set a new record in the firing of two Excalibur 155-mm precision-guided artillery projectiles in Afghanistan, reports Raytheon, the manufacturer.
More than 500 rounds have been fired in theater since Excalibur was fielded in 2007. The recent 36-km (22.3-mi) shots were the longest fired in combat, said Raytheon.
