The Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., has welcomed its new commander, reports the Belleville (Ill.) News-Democrat.
Gen. Carlton Everhart II succeeded Gen. Darren McDew during a Tuesday ceremony.
McDew has been named as the next commander of the U.S. Transportation Command, which is also based at Scott AFB.
Everhart previously commanded the 618th Air and Space Operations Center and 18th Air Force, according to an Air Mobility Command release.
