French prosecutors have opened a terrorism investigation after Thursday evening's shooting in Paris that left one police officer dead and two others injured, reports Al Jazeera (Qatar).
A gunman exited his car and fired what was called an automatic weapon at police officers at the Champs-Elysees Avenue, reported ABC News.
The gunman was killed in return fire. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
